1987 B2 senors question

The plugs only fit the correct sensor . Went out and put sensors in the harness I just removed , they are different.

It was definitely for the coolant sensor that goes to pcm, but now that hole the sensor was in houses the electric fan switch. I can't remove the fan switch. Not sure what to do now.

Factory timing setting is unplug the spout connector, and set it to 10 BTDC. The plug the spout back in afterward. That would be a place to start.

If you cam is very lumpy, the stock computer may not like it. Welcome to having a EECIV injection system.

Looks like that might be the coolant temp sensor wiring plug. If that is what that plug is, no wonder it doesn't run very good. The sensor is hidden under the throttle body on the front part of the engine/intake.
Is there an aftermarket computer that would agree with it, or a place to send pcm to for reprogramming? Maybe they could program the temp sensor that I removed to install my electric fan switch?

I believe there is a kit that you can install a temperature sensor inline on the radiator hose.

The first 3 or 4 minutes the truck is running without sensors, just uses preprogrammed values for fuel, temp, and air. After the truck warms up the truck switches to using sensors.
This certainly makes sense! I need to figure out how to get that sensor back into a coolant bung

I have put the extra sensor in the heater hose line before. These older trucks do not have a valve on the heater core water flow, so it will work there. I just go to Lowe's and get the large barb fittings for plastic well pump line. And I also get a pipe tee to match. Put the tee with the barb fittings in the heater core line, and then screw the temp sensor into the remaining hole in the tee. You usually need a thread adapter bushing there for the sensor.

Thank you guys for the quick reply! Fix that issue!

Next question, as Im slowly working the bugs out of this new build.
Pictured is a 2 wire connector, the wire colors look to be a black with white stripe, and what appears to be a green-ish with maybe a yellowish wire. Any idea what I missed, and where this may connect? With the pictures, I take a close up of the wires, then the connector, and I back out to show location

If you look at the pictures. The connector goes on the same side behind the hoses into the top of the manifold. You can see the black end of the connector in the pictures.
