I have a 1987 Ford Ranger that is a crank no start. It currently has no fuel pump signal to relay, or injector pulse. It does however have spark present, verified by spraying some starting fluid into the intake and have the engine run briefly. This system is so old, even the expensive repair info service the local library had lacks good service info. They have simply the same basic wiring diagrams as the repair manuals I have, Chilton, Hanyes, and Clymer. I don’t suspect the magnetic pickup in the distributor is bad, as It does have spark. Because it was cheap from rock auto, I threw a TFI module at it, with no change. Does anyone know Which pins at the TFI and EEC I should be checking for voltage, I found a thread that had it for an ‘89, but that is a DIS system, which would be totally different. Also, does anyone know if the original Ford service manual would actually be helpful, I have seen a copy for sale, but don‘t want to waste the money if they will have have the same information as the three manuals I already have.

Since you have spark the TFI and signal from it is working that is getting sent to the computer for injector pulse, since your fuel pump isn't getting turned on have you checked the inertia switch? It's in the passenger footwell at the front edge of the carpet. Aside from that there's either something wrong with the signal from the ECM to the fuel pump relay or something...

Do you have 12V on one side of the injectors? They should get powered all the time and get a pulsed ground.

Will check for voltage at injector connector and update, I can say it’s not the inertia switch as that was taken out after it failed years ago. I do know the problem with pumps not running is that the ground isn’t getting turned on at the relay connector.
