Rear: Toyo Proxes R1-R 225/45/15 200 treadwear 23psi

Only issue is power steering DID NOT LIKE THE TRACK. Started leaking, wining more than usual, seemed to get some air in it. Solutions in the works.

Ran the Truck pretty stock this time. Spare tire and bottle jack still in the truck. I have a new engine on a stand, trans, clutch, ready to go. So, this one needs to blow up first.

You have my full attention.

For a P/S solution, look into a Volvo EPAS or Mazda 3 power steering mod. I did the EPAS one to my 1988 and absolutely love it. If I had to do it again though, I'd probably go the Mazda route.

Also, got an under hood shot?

What kind of track are you running on?

Event was on "Big Willow" Road Course

You need a wright up on the mazda setup

I like what you've done with this truck. How did it do on the track?

Nice…

Seems like a decent recipe to go have some fun!

Underpowered(obvious), but very stable. Need to take a little camber out of right front after tire inspections. Wider tire up front helped with push and smaller rear helped it corner a little better and still enough grip to lay the "power" down for most of the lap except for braking. Only did about 4-6 laps per session. Tires came in about lap 2 and laps 3+ were consistent and the fastest. Next time maybe .2 less front right camber, tires will be 245 all around since these are the last 225's I have. Hoping to lighten up and make some power steering upgrades then be back at it. Have some spare black bumpers I wanna chop up and make an aero "track" set of bumpers I can swap with a couple of bolts.

Goals for next Track Day:

Power Steering: fix/upgrade alternator required for electric Volvo pump
Weight reduction: Spare tire, Jack/lever, glove box contents, lightweight rear bumper, lightweight front bumper, vintage tape deck(JUST KIDDING)
Wheels: Bassett Inertia Advantage -4/5lbs a corner 15X8 backspacing to 4"(little more tuck)
Seats: Have some ok shape Recaro's from a Saturn Ion Redline might be too deep, but the back seats almost exact width, are bolstered well and might be able to make them a 50/50 split-fold forward and still keep the cupholder storage in the center the came in the Saturn.
Aero? Gauges?

other ideas??

Dude this thing is freakin rad! If you swap out the stock beams for a set of cast stock beams from an ‘89+ you can run factory dual piston calipers, made a whole world of difference in my B2 since I’m running 33s

I already did the pre-89 DJM dream beams, if anything I would swap to 89 plus DJM beams then do the 95/96 knuckles for the brake upgrade. Right now stopping isn't really an issue but that could soon change.

PLEASE take lots of photos if you do the Recaro swap. I'm dying to get a set in my 88 and 11
