Hi i have a 1984 ford bronco II 4x4.
Its all original with a 2.8 v6.
I want to install a 4.0 eng and trans from donor 1991 ford explorer 4x4.
Does any one kkow how to hook or convert eng harness off 4.0 to my original 2.8 fuse box inside the drivers side fuse box.
I was told i could keep my original dash and fuse box.
If thats the case how can i plug the 4.0 eng harness to the original fuse box any suggestions anybody.

There is more than one way to skin this cat. I have adapted the newer dash harnesses to the older dash so that it plugs in at the firewall like factory.

A lot of other guys build adapter harnesses that plug the two different ones into each other.

So adapted the newer 4.0 eng harness. Into the original fuse box.
How bye cutting the original plug harness and cut the 4.0 harness end plug.
And install the 2.8 original adapter to it thats the only way i see it will work?

Here's the diagrams. 1991 shouldn't have OBD2?

The 4.0 that im using is from 1991 ford explorer 4x4 eng and trans.
Is this diagram from an explorer 1991with 4.0.

As stated above, if it's truly a '91 donor, it's definitely not OBD2.

Yes the last 3 diagrams are from a 1991 4.0 Explorer

They will cut the end off a 4.0 dash harness and the end off a whatever engine harness, and splice them together to go in between the two and make them connect. Just to make the engine run you only need about 4 wires to connect

Also since i live in California smog is strict and it has obd2 plug can i use the same obd2 plug.

Step 1 to making this swap successful is to GTFO of California.

I highly recommend moving to America instead. My understanding is that being a subject of the PRoC actually entitles you to automatic political refugee status and citizenship in the USA.
