15 year reunion

Yesterday (Saturday) was my 15 year high school reunion. The way this is done for an Adventist Academy is called Alumni Weekend. This is where all the Alumni return to the school once a year like a home coming. Every 5 years you are in an "Honored" year. So this was 15 year reunion for me.......... 5 of us showed and that is because 4 of us live local (with in 100 miles)..........

I did take some comfort in the fact that I am not the only one that got fat in the last 15 years (because I have gained over 100 pounds since I was 17).

Also I would like to point out that while you are in High school you are told (but never believe it) that true beauty comes from in the inside. after 17 years of being away from these people I can tell you that it is true because one of the girls I was in class with (keep in mind we are the same age) never drank a cocktail or smoked 1 cigarette looks like she is 50 years old so the outside now reflects what I have always know to be on her inside (A dried up old hag, BTW she is married to one of our fellow class men that has also gained 60 or 70 pounds since I last saw them in 1993) and a completely different girl that got picked on because she was rather homely looking is currently a stunning 34 y/o Major that does Forensics for the United State AirForce O.S.I. (she didn't show up, this is confirmed by the class historian, plus I have remained in semi regular contact with her as we were fairly good friends.)

I would also like to take the time to point out that one of the girls that took great joy in calling the less athletic males in our class "gay" now has a male member of her own (confirmed by the class historian) and one of our more confused Homophobes no longer possess his male member but is sporting a nice set &@@&5 of his own (this was passed on when he/she attended the 10 year and was passed on to me by the class historian) I may be unemployed and 60 pounds over weight but apparently I am completely normal.

to top my day off I was standing in line to get food and I got felt up by a 20 y/o member of last years graduating class. she shoved her phone number in my breast pocket with a note that says she likes fatties while she squeezed me and told me I have nice moobs. As this happened infront of my wife, her phone number has since been confiscated and subsequently burned.

now as to why only 5 showed up .......... as the class historian pointed out we were never that tight as a group, and we were not really friends with each other. we where way to competitive.

that is how my day went.

I've been tempted to register as Alumni for my high school and go to one of the reunions just to see what ever happened to most of those I went to school with...

But I already have a pretty good idea what happened to a lot of the high and mighty from my graduating class. I watched many of them run off to big-name colleges their first year out of high school and I watched a lot of them appear at the local community college the next....

And yet more recently I've had a growing number of them wanting to be added to my friends on Facebook (which I rarely check). And oddly enough a number of them were people I didn't come close to getting along with in school.

We had out 10 year reunion last year...Was supposed to be held at a fancy restaurant, and they wanted me to pay $75 for it. I politely responded to the organizer, that if they paid for my plane ticket, I would be more than happy to attend.....got no responce in return....

Same here. I hated school though nothing or on one really ever got in my face . Just never did like going to school. But I did graduate.

I was invited to our 10 year reunion 10 years ago and did not go. No desire to see anyone other than the people I had stayed in contact with already. I might have pissed some people off showing up and seeing that I've not gained a pound since high school 20 years ago !

Facebook is enough for me really. I see how much a lot of my class has changed, I lost weight, a lot of people gained weight, most of the hotties remained hot or got hotter, and some of the average girls became hotties. I'm amazed at the amount of people married with kids already.

If we have a 10 year I'll go..its only been 5.

I was the emcee at my 25th a few years ago. I started off by saying:
"Don't all the ladies look great?"
(applause, they did)
"Don't all us guys need Rogaine?"
(more applause and massive laughter)

I look a good 10 years younger than I am. Keep your weight down, don't smoke, and drink a lot of water. In my experience, most of the hot girls in HS look like hell now. Most of the average girls in HS look pretty hot now. Most of the ugly babes in HS look pretty good now thanks to plastic surgery and/or stomach stapling.

I am only 4 years out right now, not sure if we're having a 5 year reunion or not. I don't really care if we do and I may just end up not going. Everyone I care about I kept in contact with. My group of friends was pretty close. Any of them that I don't talk to now are gone because they ended up being d-bags (or their wives did)

I'm about 3 years out of HS now, the people I want to see I still talk to, Many of the others are my friends on Facebook. Out of my graduating class I keep in touch with one person. I will probably go to my HS reunion just to see what happened to my 35 classmates, more for entertainment than anything.

my 10 year is in a couple years. still debating, i went to HS with a lot of snooty rich pricks and wannabes. should be good for a laugh, though.



or i may dig up this thread in 2011 just to tell you that i was wrong, and arkansas has gotten WAY weirder than the typical stereotypes.....

it is gonna be 2 years for me in june , i plan on going to the 5th and 10th , then skip a couple , i went to a private school , with alot of kids that had alot of money , so i want to see where they end up , plus me and a friend have a bet going about whether or not this girl we went to school with will have any kids or not , and how many fathers
