1354 tcase with PCM from Explorer AWD

Got a 2000 Ranger 3.0 4x4 I am going to do a 4.0 conversion on. I have a doaner, a 2000 Explorer sport 4.0 4x4 with the 44-50 tcase. Can I still use the 1354E tcase from the ranger behind the 5r55e and select between 2wd, 4wd hi, 4wd lo with the Explorer PCM installed? What are my options if it will not work? I know the 5r55e and the 1354E tcase will work together, but the AWD computer from the explorer concerns me.

The 44-05 isnt an AWD transfer case. Its a part-time case controlled by the GEM module. The ECU doesnt have anything to do with it.

To answer your question, yes, both transfer cases bolt up. Whether or not the wiring is the same i cannot tell you...
