1 ton SAS swap

my insurance didn't go up when I gave them a list of mods... I had to list my mods for them to pay for them in full. Otherwise they'd just pay for what they find or I could prove I purchased later..

lift blocks on front are a bad BAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDD thing to do. and just because some sells something dosen't mean it's legal to use on the street in your area. most companies have some where in small print for off road use only.freight up here is real expensive the lower 48 states act as is we're an island or foreign country so many of us use to custom build drop brackets for our suspension bolting and welding everything in. i loved my 1979 bronco done up like this i us to drive it daily wheel it xtremely hard and jump it and only broke a couple of shocks, and dropped a rear drive shaft due to seperating the slip shaft. that thing was warm in winter -50 and always drove great and straight. should have dump the girl i was with and kept the truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only have PLPD -$1,000,000 coverage. It costs $500ish per year. Doesn't cover my vehicle, just other vehicles/property I may damage. To my knowledge, up here, Insurance companies won't pay you for a suspension lift etc. if you have full coverage and write off your vehicle anyway.
The 6" blocks I was talking about were BODY LIFT blocks! PA sells a 6" body lift for a Dodge1500.

So, for a leaf spring swap in the FRONT - what's the pros/cons of mounting the rear mount/shackle on the outside of the frame (like the rear leafs mount on Ranger) compared to boxing in the frame and wrapping the shackle around the frame with the bolt going through the frame?

i wouldn't run anything more than a 3'' body. anything over that you will start putting your steering sector shaft in a bind and you'll have to extend it brake lines , shift linkage , transmission linkage , heater core hoses , drop radiator hoses and wiring , oh yeah and fuel lines. the other thing is that your cab and bed will beat the day lights out of each other any time you get your truck twisting in ruts ditches ect. this will even happen with a 3'' but not as severe.

Me neither! That's why I cut my body lift blocks in 1/2. Body lift is great for working on Ranger. My trans needs to come out soon - part of the reason a little body lift is going back in.

yeah i'm doing a 2'' body to help clear dd transfer case doubler and 4.0 w/ac. as far as using leaf springs you can still get a great ride out your truck. are you considering reversed shackles? you'll have to cross channel for your spring hangers if you go outside your frame rails with your mounts or your frame rails will start bowing in at the top. good luck with your build. we just got 5'' of snow this last weekend so it'll probly be 1 - 2 weeks before i can get mine in the garage.
