1 ton sas soon, need advice.

those look pretty nice, were your spring pads 37.5 on center like the newer 60's?

Mine is 36.5. i maybe wrong, but i thought the newer ones(early 2000) were the same. it doesn't matter with these brackets though. they can add half an inch to each side no problem. here is a link to the web sit.

I was wrong on the price as well. They are 180 including the shackle. they originally built them to do f350 rear shackle flips. so they are plenty strong.

Trim back the cast on the drivers side so you have room for a link/shock mount.

And then use these...

This with C/Os gets my vote. Mostly because it's what I'll be doing. :icon_thumby:

Did you heat up your inner C to get it on like you were talking about?? How did that work out for you??
SVT

I'm sure he'll come in and answer, and I can't find where he said it, but I remember reading where he said he tossed it in an oven or something. He was able put it on with some light taps from a hammer. Measured, measured, tacked, measured, welded.

It was a bbq and he used welding gloves to grab it its in his thread

Yep, that was it. I didn't want to say a grill and sound like a dumbass. haha

Wife woulda killed me if I tossed it in the oven. I put the BBQ on high and tossed the inner C on it while I prepped the housing. I would suggest a couple pairs of welding gloves as I made it about halfway across the yard to the shop before it started to burn through a single pair of gloves. It went on pretty easy, would have been even easier if I would have left it longer (I've heard about an hour will do) but I was impatient.

Bring the bbq into the shop lol then you dont have to hold onto the c for as long
