00-95 Explorer center console

I have seen a few people putting a 00-95 Explorer center console into a similar year Ranger and it looks pretty good.

Wondering if anyone has tried fitting one of these in a 92-89 Ranger? Dash is different and so is the floor pan but it could look OK.
 
There was a console in 91-94 Explorers that would probably fit better. It looks completely different though. Almost looks like an aftermarket thing.
