braking

When I press on my brakes, my left rear wheel locks ups for about one to two seconds, then releases. Also, it takes alot of brake pressure to get the vehicle to stop. The ABS light is NOT on, and new brakes/rotors/drums. Any ideas? 2001 Ford Ranger 3.0(not flex) 2WD Automatic Trans
