While we're at it, why don't we argue over the proper use of magazine and clip? SMDH...

My credo
I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
My ex-wife ran in to this when we were at an event in Cleveland. She went to the concession stand to get a soda. The woman working it argued with her that it's called pop.

Actually, it's soda pop.

Growing up In Ohio, we called it pop. When I moved south of there, it was called soda.
We were in Grand Cayman last year and my wife asked for a diet soda... the waitress looked at her like she had 2 heads and said "I'll see if we have it." She came back and said the bartender never heard of diet soda. They refer to seltzer water as "soda".

I ordered a Pepsi, I got a Pepsi.

Well to be fair, just like with engine and motor, a magazine and a clip are two entirely different things.

Yes, but "magazine" is harder to fit into a rap song. "Clip" just flows better.

Mag isn't too bad.

But taking firearm advice from rappers isn't a good plan anyway... :fie:

So it's a bad idea to keep my "cypher and spare clip on the side of my hip"? :dunno:

So how about ensure, assure, or insure?

I’m simple minded but they baffle me to no end.

I can assure you that if excess Ensure is consumed that you'll be glad you're insured.

and you will also need baffles.

We could also get into damping vibration vs dampening it.
