I am looking at getting a rusted out 95 Explorer 4WD as a donor for a 8.8 rear swap to lower my 93 Ranger. Want to hear from all you experienced guys about what else I could salvage from this thing to use on my truck. Thanks.

Not much. Wheels and some body panels will swap, not much from the interior. Overhead console can be used if it has it.

Seats should be swappable but yeah, could be limited...

as said not much

seats

could do a explorer clip swap(weld the explorer front fender pieces to the ranger fenders and swap the hood and headlights and stuff

drivetrain parts but sensors are a PITA

ford was nice and changed the plugs on the majority of the sensors even though they have the same number of pins....(found this out with comparing my 94 4.0 ohv explorer to my 2000 4.0 ohv ranger)

center console and Roof Compass/temp guage.

dome light

fuel pump and sending unit would be worth taking.

master cylinder has different port sizes so it wont swap, but if you swap in a 95-97(matches the 93-94 ports and has cruise switch port in it) ranger master and use the switches off the explorer steering wheel you could run the better electronic cruise with some wiring and get rid of the weak vacumn cruise.

a/c stuff, the a/c condensor will fit in the older a/c box

They changed the connectors when they changed the Electronic Engine Control in the switch from EEC4 to EEC5 in 1995!

Thanks again, guys. Think I am going to let this one go. I only really wanted the rear diff and the disc brakes but I think I'll just use mine and convert to Mustang rear brakes later.
