I have been reading up on this swap and it appears that I have 99% of what I need to finish it off. However after ready as many posts, threads and How To's I'm still not clear of the best way to remove my old wiring and install the 5.0 wiring and computer? Do I literally cut everything off the round firewall plug and splice into that or is that overkill?

No one has been clear on this in any of the how to's I've found. So I'm anxious to start lopping off wiring if it's going to cause me heartburn. Some people say only 5-7 wires need spliced to make it all work right. I have all the diagrams to match everything up but not clear as to what is really necessary.

Built not bought
First don't cut nothing brotha . Everything you need can be disconnected and possibly spliced to the old engine harness pigtails for a plug and play setup . . Just follow the engine harness to the driver side fender well disconnect the 3-4 plugs attached to the plastic fender . Can you take pics of the fender area on the driver side . Granted my swap that I just finished is on a 94 4.0 to 96 5.0 . I don't have much info for the mustang harness . But anything you need to know about the 94 chassis I'm pretty sure I can help you with . I have a few diagrams that I need to finish up and post on the forum for our 94 chassis .

I just wanna go fast [emoji48]

dont cut anything, just stand alone the 5.0 stuff. you can remove your eec stuff....but leave the systems elsewhere in place.
