did ford put a cv joint on there front driveshaft on my 2002 ranger? its going out the little cv join on the front driveshaft where it meets up with the tcase. i can get a new one for 80 bucks. will i need a new driveshaft or can i just get the cv joint?

Its just like replacing one in a front wheel drive car it just slides out of the axle housing and slide the new one in there and all done.

You might have to depending on how hammered the joint is, mine was dry as a bone and was clanking while I was driving, I have seen people take apart cv joints and rebuild them and grease em up and they are fine but that depends on how bad everything is inside the boot. Take the driveshaft off the truck and see how it looks.

If your talking about your 1996, that Joint is just a couple of U joints put together in a wierd way. I just replaced the u joints on mine, and re assembled it.
