Looks like rear brakes locking up is a common problem but so far I haven't found any info on the fronts doing the same thing. My truck is a '93 standard cab, 2wd, 2.3L, and 5spd. When I first bought it I replaced the front rotors, pads, calipers, rubber hoses, master cylinder, and brake hardware. After that I noticed that the truck would have really touchy brakes when it is wet out...more so when it is cool too. On a cool foggy morning it just takes a light touch on the pedal to lock the front wheels up. It gets better as I drive it more but doesn't go away. I've always just been careful in those conditions but I'd like to fix it...now that I've ignored it for 3+ years! :D

Any ideas appreciated. Thanks!

Make sure the rear brakes are doing their share; otherwise the fronts do all the work and seem touchy. In my case it was due to the rabs freezing and disabling the rear brakes. The fronts mainly locked under 20 mph under moderate to hard braking.

When you replaced the master, did you check and adjust the rod from the vacuum booster? If it is not the right length it can cause problems in braking.

Its common for pads to have moisture in them causng them to lock up, happens to me quite a bit and I have 33s, once they warm up it goes away
