Thought I would toss out a line before crawling under the truck. I have a 95 b2300 with the 5 speed. I did some searching and it appears the manual trannies had a NSS until 1995. Does anyone know if I can add this switch to mine? I didn’t know if that switch was separate on the prior years or incorporated In the reverse switch. I have added a remote start to my truck. After thinking about it, I don’t like the fact it could take off if someone other than me messes with the keys. Even if tied into the ebrake , it’s possible as my ebrake is not the best. I have searched for aftermarket neutral switches but not many to be had. I would be in luck if I could bolt on one from an earlier m5od.

Thanks for any help

You'd probably have to put an earlier shift plate in it. The later one is likely not drilled for the switch.

Heck I have searched and searched just to try to find a picture or part number for the switch. It must be called something else because I’m coming up empty handed :/

I replaced one about 11-12 years ago... IIRC, I used Standard p/n LS222. It wasn't the right plug, but the switch itself was correct.

It should have a switch on the clutch pedal linkage so it won’t crank unless the pedal is down.

Having to sit in the truck and push the clutch pedal down kinda defeats the purpose of remote start.

Yeah, IIRC it is the same basic switch as the reverse lights, with a different plug.
