I have a 92 Ranger that i want to do a resto mod type project with. I want it to look original until i pop the hood. It will have a carbed 302 with an aod trans. The main problem is rust in the front corners of the cab. Some in the floor pans an some where the door hinges bolt to the cab. Can i just make some new panels and weld them in. Can anyone help with advice. Ive always wanted to do this kind of body restoration. And i love Rangers especially this one cause its a 92 the year i was born. 22 years ago lol. Im a fitter welder by trade so fabrication work come easy to me. Thanks in advance. Here are some pics of the rust.

Absolutely you can fix that. But it would be so much less work to start with a rust free body. If you want to practice that is a good candidate.
Go for it.

Is that truck from Alabama?

Did it live up north for a while?

It would be less costly to start with a rust free vehicle, meaning more money left for upgrades.

Your project so you dive in if you feel like tackling it.

Good luck.

agree with the others... that truck might be a good parts truck for one with a much better condition body
