rather shell out over $150

for those who maybe wondering...or not

I got hold of another cam cover which also houses the front main seal, it still had a seal in it....so I measured the depth to the seal from the face of the housing, (I got approxamately .32 of inch...roughly 5/16").

so I found a collar that would fit just under the O.D. of the new seal. then marked out just under 11/32 all around the collar....then tapped lightly with a hammer to the marked depth all the way around...sealed up like a champ.:yahoo: yes...it required me getting up and down a few time checking which side was higher but i got it.

I just guessed when i installed the 1st one (I didn't have the other engine apart at that time to use as a referance)....anyway i didn't have it far enough...so it wore thru the seal from the hamarnic balancer bevel.
