Is it possible to bolt a 2WD 1999 Ranger XLT body to a 1999 Ranger 4WD chassis and running gear. I am looking for the 4WD capability for snow covered road ways and rough muddy log roads. Not looking for extra ground clearance, rock climbing goat. Just hate to get rid of a really cherry 99 body. But I need 4X4 here. Thanks for any help

I see no difficulty of this thing from 98 to 2008 make it easy
you must find one of the same year in JY(junk yard) and then take all the necessary parts for change

Well ..."WAY TO MANY TIMES" ... I SEARCHED the site and found NOTHING about getting away with only changing the BODY from a 2WD chassis to a 4WD chassis of the same year? Sorry to have cluttered up "YOUR BLOG" straycat with yet another duplicated question from a first (and last time) user.

Why did you buy a 2wd in the first place? I am confused about that if you live in a place that snows and you know want to do this?
Would it be cheaper to sell or trade you truck and get a 4x4? If not, then do the chassis swap. There are several places on this site that mention it.
I have both 2wd and 4wd lifted trucks and I do love to go offroad with them all. They are dd as well. Good luck!!

It's called moving ... from the south back home to Vermont. I purchased the vehicle from a friend who was also escaping the south. I now have a cherry 1999 XLT BODY that needs 4X4.
Not changing chassis's ... changing BODIES.

No problem...you can do that....that would be a lot cheaper and you get to keep the nice cab and bed. I think your insurance policy will have to be modified since the VIN number on your cab says it is a 2wd. You might want to call the insurance company about this...just in case you are involved in a wreck (hope not, Bro)....and you are not clogging up the site!!!! lol
