I'm looking to put some pizza cutters on my 94 Fordzda Branger.

Long story short, I'm looking for skinny options. Stock size is 265/75-15. Currently has 31x10.5-15 (same basic size).

I could keep the 31" diameter, but wouldn't mind adding some diameter to make my speedo more accurate. I am used to being off by a few mph, but anything up to 32" would close up that gap. Right now on the highway, at 75 indicated I'm actually going 71-72 GPS. No biggie, just letting you know that there is room to go bigger.

I love pizza cutters, but it seems that the A/T tires out there range from fat to obese. You can do wide or extremely wide. Any of the skinny options are usually E-range (215/85-16).

Goal is 80% street/rain/snow, 20% very light off-road, almost never mud/sand. I use the 4x4 to get in to a couple hunting camps and for heavier snow, which puts me squarely in the A/T category unless you can think of an A/S that could fill the bill. I put about 20k/year on my trucks and loud tires kinda suck.

When it comes to wheels, help me narrow down some 16" and 17" options from the junkyard. I know the 5x4.5 pattern was used on everything from Dodge to Bentley, so if you have a suggested tire size, throw out some suggestions for donors for the wheel as well :)

For a true pizza cutter, you're probably stuck with E-rated, unfortunately. Check the Cooper AT3 LT out. At 235/85r16, it's only 43lbs - not horrible at all. I ran this size for many years on my 4runner and Tacoma; it's a very functional size if you can manage the stiff ride.

No, this is a Next Generation pizza cutter.

You are Amazing. I don't know how you do it. It's like you knew he was gonna ask.

Ok, so after an exhaustive search I've decided to give up on pizza cutters. Instead I'm going to get some 16" wheels from an 05 Ranger and do 265/75-16. I figure I'd rather put up with the wider tire than the E-range ride quality.

They have an overall diameter of 31.7". In your experience, will they rub with an otherwise stock setup? Stock tires are 265/75-15 which has a 30.6" diameter. It currently has 31x10.5/15 on it. Can't imagine an extra inch should kill things, right?

I also realize I will probably have to machine the center bores for the hubs in the front, but that's not a worry.

You should be OK. I'm running 31s on a 1st gen, which has smaller wheel wells, and I don't rub except on extreme turns, and I only trimmed a little.

I ran 32" tall tires that were 12.5 " wide on my Ranger and had very minor rubbing. The 265 are more like a 10.5" wide tire. I know your 94 is somewhat different than my 02 but I think it should still work if you have 4WD. If you have 2WD it will sit lower, if it is still at factory height. This could be a problem.

I run 33" x 10.5" tires now with no problem. They did rub the front mud flap mounting brackets at near full turn initially but I bent the brackets a little and have not problem anymore. I have a 1.5" torsion bar crank lift and I am sure that helps a little.

Thanks all. Will I have to enlarge the center bore on the later Ranger wheels to fit my old school hubs? I did convert to Ford manual hubs which I think are the same diameter as the busted automatic hubs I took off.
