Greetings,
My truck has the 2.3 duratec with the 5-speed manual. This past fall, I put 235/75r15s on, and I recently had a 3" body lift installed as well. My original plan for this summer was to stick with 235/75r15s, as that was the stock size for 4x4s in 2010. However, now that it's lifted, I could easily clear 31s and I'm tempted to go that route. My thinking is that staying with lighter tires to keep the unsprung weight down will be best, so I've narrowed it down to the following tires:

Firestone Destination LE2 P265/75r15 (most sensible daily driver choice)
Cooper AT3 4S P265/75r15
Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT 31X10.5r15C. I'm not super familiar with these, but they have great ratings/reviews on Tire Rack and Consumer Reports and are pretty light for a C-rated A/T.

I plugged my numbers into the gear ratio calculator and it looks like theoretically I'll be ok, but I'm wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with this setup. Will the truck be unbearably sluggish around town? I don't think it looks bad with the 235s, but 31s would look better for sure. If I stay with the 235/75s, I'll probably get BFG KO2s, since they're not egregiously heavy at that size. Current picture with 235s included for reference.

What is your final drive ratio?

I've run 31 inch tires with a 3.73 gear for many miles... I think it's totally livable.

Cool. Yeah, if anything, I wouldn't mind if the revs were a little lower on the freeway. Now I just have to decide what kind of tires... all-terrains are definitely tempting, but now I'm leaning towards either the Firestone Destinations or coughing up a little more cash for Michelin LTXs, which I've had great luck with in the past.
