Ok. So I did a complete LED swap in my 2000 Ranger, but it’s using a 2000 Sport Trac cluster. So far the lights look great. In this pic only the main illumination lights are on and the ABS light too.

Now that I’ve hooked the cluster back up I’m seeing the parking brake light, airbag light, and seat belt warning light are on but very dim. I removed the cluster in front of those lights, and the LED bulbs are on. No bleed through from main illumination bulbs.

This may or may not have anything to do with it, but EVERYTHING was taken out (had a leak I needed to find).

Any ideas?

Add Door Ajar and Check engine on the dim light list.

Key on, engine off.
AND
key on engine on

What did you figure out. Mine is doing the same in my 95 since I swapped all to LED. I can’t see my turn signals or high beam light indicator.

For the turn signals and hb, have you checked if it’s a polarity issue? Try taking the bulb and base out together, rotate it 180 degrees, and put it back in. That was one of my issues doing the led swap.

The other issue, the dim LEDs, had to be replaced with the halogen bulbs it originally came with. The main backlighting is still led. I CAN’T say definitively what was going on, but I suspect that since everything is more or less on a 12v system and the lights I had issues with were part of systems that were being monitored (seatbelt, parking brake, airbag, abs...). I think after the diagnostic was completed that there was a voltage drop to something at least 4v or so. I say 4v because that was the minimum amount of power needed to operate the led (according to the print on the bulb case).

If I’m wrong and anyone else know what’s actually going on I hope they’ll chime in.
