I met Jim at the Dearborn meet and he asked me to start a thread here for my build. The build is fully documented on turborangerforums. The majority of my fabrication work is all lost due to photobucket so Ill kind of start this thread off will where I'm at now and work back as I can.

Quick backstory, it all started with my old 93 (in my profile picture and the link in my sig) it was lowered and had a 2.3 turbo in it, I always wanted it to handle better and have more power, so this whole build was supposed to happen to it but I stumbled into an 01 cab and couldn't turn down 3 extra inches. So exterior is 01 cab, 01-03 front end with 08+ bumper. The bed and front end are all aluminum and the truck weighs I at 2700 pounds

Chassis: full 2x3 tube frame, with 1.75 round tube along with it. Welder series Mustang 2 front crossmember with modified ebay tubular control arms. 99-04 Cobra IRS based rear suspension, I started with a complete cobra subframe, made a jig and put all the suspension mounts on the frame, custom tubular rear control arms. S550 track pack front sway bar and 99 cobra rear sway bar, QA1 coil overs. CTS-V 4 piston brembos all around with 13 inch front rotors and 12.5” rear. I’m sure I’m forgetting something in the chassis.

Powertrain: 2.3 Duratec out of an 06 focus st, untouched besides swapping a custom sheet metal oil pan and modified aluminum valve cover, I plan to build an engine this was just to get it going but has proven to work well. On the outside is a schedule 10 stainless header I built myself with a Borg Warner EFR 7163 turbo (what they use on Indy cars). A custom designed and built by me intake manifold, and a basic front mount intercooler. Fuel system is an Aeromotive Stealth A1000, -10 feed -8 return, Aeromotive regulator and filter, custom billet fuel rail and ID1000 injectors. The transmission is an 03-04 Cobra T56 with a quicktime SBF bellhousing and a custom (rangergt) duratec to small block adapter and flywheel.

I’m sure I forgot plenty of details But I’ll go ahead and start posting 3 years worth of pictures. We will start with the First Drive, truck was still multi colored and a little to low

Next was time to get it one color, It was about June and I knew to paint it right I probably wouldn’t have the truck all summer so I decided to wrap it and not fix all the little dings and dents. I did it myself so its not perfect, there are bubbles and wrinkles but its 1 color and looks way better

My credo
Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.
Damn nice build. Lots of work and patience in that one.

Nice, I think I'm running similar sizes on mine, mine don't seem as wide tho.

For the engine set up, are u using stock ECU or aftermarket?

Very cool. Looking into systems as my next version may be fuel injected. Did u build it yourself? I follow a few guys in the mustang world that build and tune the ms2 ms3 systems.

the microsquirt is a preassembled unit, I built an ms2 back in the day and I really prefer the microsquirt. it is ms2 based and runs all the same stuff, and is under 400 with the harness. I have a few how to's over on turbo ranger forum for the lima and duratec 4 cylinders

Yes I made the intake, I have since started supplying a very similar intake to a shop for 2.5 swap Miatas, he claims over 100 hp gains up high intake swap only, on a turbo car

I may have to buy one from you; I have a 2.5 Duratec from a 2009 Escape going into my Fiat 131. One day, that is. Gotta build a frame like yours first. :icon_welder:
