I own a 2004 ext cab 4x4 4.0 automatic with the 8.8 LS with 4.10 gears. Liking the way it performs with the factory 30.5” tires I was wondering how much would 33” tires hurt it in the way it performs now?

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
The 4.0 should be able to handle that. It will feel more sluggish. There is a tire & gear ratio chart in the tech articles that makes it easy to see how engine rpm will change for different combinations.

Well after looking at the charts mentioned I’m going to go with 32-11.5-15 on 15x10 wheels. No lift at all as a matter of fact I will be removing the rear lift blocks but I will be installing front prerunner fenders along with bedsides. I will also be removing the front bumper and make a prerunner style tubular one.
