craigslist is thebest bet. Look for a cobra 29 classic or any other large cobra model. DO NOT BUY tHE 34 DOLLAR WALMART COBRA!!!!!!! Its ok for stupid shit, but worthless for anythingelse. Find a good cb shop and look at a new one for around 300. Pilot fuel stops also sell many brands, any of those are pretty good.

Actually ended up goin to my local frys electronics and picked up a uniden pro,swr Meter, and cobra (tiny little thing) antenna for about $150 then a 4ft whip from a co-worker for $10 recives well but I can't tell if I'm transmiting no body gets back on my radio checks any suggestions?

You sure there's people around with CB's? You need to find a buddy with a CB and try it.

^ Thats what i found when i had mine hooked up, no one was ever talking unless i was on the freeway. they were very useful up north before we had service on our cell phones, we would have a convoy of trucks and bikes and use our cbs to communicate where we were stopping and how everyones trucks were doing as the trip progressed.
