I'm on my 5th? I think pair of these.

Only takes a day to break them in. They hold up to 280lbs well. And are the only hard toes wide enough for my duck feet.

Wolverine Buccaneers here.

Light, comfy and waterproof. Also brown which blends better with my flavor of dirt. I get a year or two out of them.

My good going-to-town cowboy boots (which I only wore like four times last year) are black and they show everything... at the end of the day I think they just really want to be brown.

I heard good things about the wolverine, and occasionally spot them at work, being one that notes what the other guys run...

also Kudos that your formal casual footwear is black cowboy boots.

That is as good as it gets lol.

I got married in them, even wore them to the Ranger reveal (I think I was the only person there in cowboy boots and a carhart jacket)

Since it is a boot thread, I like Justin's... not that I am biased or anything because my name is Justin...

Yup, they bring the party to you now!

check out Timberland Pro. Waterproof, steel toe.

30+ years in Machine Shops, cutting fluids and hydraulic oil eat away leather, metal chips cut them to ribbons. These are the only boots I've had that could take the abuse. Light and comfortable as well.

Where has this thread been?
Been looking for some decent work boots for awhile. Really like the Bates Tactical posted early on by that guy who poops in his furnace.
Compared to the Irish Setters I have looked at, the price for these is not bad.

That might have been me, the the guy who farted. Anyways The bates tacticals have been holding up, although I rotate about 3 or 4 pairs of boots around, so they get worn maybe once or twice a week. The part of the sole that wraps over the toe area has started to peel back... will either shoe goo em down or slice em off.
I recently purchased a dual sport motorcycle, and must say the bates make for excellent around town riding boots as well.

A lot of the guys at work run Irish Setters, I tried some on, they were too stiff for me...Id rather not suffer for 6 months breaking them in. They do last forever, and seem very comfy once broken in. My current boss has his Setters re-soled every 6 months to one year.

it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
Work boots. Usually extra toughs.

Or 9 series Kevlar....leather is useless in a brine environment

I usually wear the bates when we are down to finish work on stage (I do film and tv show set construction for hollyweird). When I am working in the mill or metal shop, I run heavier work boots. Heres my boot rack:

-Dewalt steel toe work boots mid high (surprisingly comfortable, a little bulky, kinda hot)
-Carhart composite toe high (excellent, just bulky, hot, and not very comfortable)
-Bates tactical boots (comfy, light, agile, breathable, just not much protection)
-Keen composite toe work boots low top (very breathable, good grip, no ankle protection, very bulky)
-Reebok Floatride Energy composite toe work shoe (damn near perfect, just no ankle protecton, being a shoe)

I am looking into welding boots, as recently I have noticed welding spatter and metal shavings falling in sometimes.
