My ranger is a 1995 4x4 with a automatic and the 3.0, it has auto hubs and an electric t-case. Now my truck has the 4x4 and the low range light on, can't get it to turn off at all. And I can't get the front to turn (they roll, just don't deliver power.) Before when I would take it out of 4x4 (which didn't work) I would here racheting nosies till I could get it to dis engage. Now I hear nothing. I fells like it is in 4 low due to the trannie not shifting up and the way it feels (if that makes sense?)
So I'm thinking that the auto hubs are bad, which would awnser the not turning part. They looked ok when I took them apart though. But I haver no clue why the lights wont go off and it wont come out of 4x4. Could the switch be bad or do you think the T-case is bad? I don't here any clicking sound from the truck when I turn the knob either. It wouldn't be bad if it was stuck in 4 high being in Wyoming with the snow and what not. Thank you very much and thank you for any imput.
