Anybody know where I can find a wiring diagram for a 1998 Ranger? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to TRS :)

Ford prints a Shop Manual Set for each model each year.

Part of that set is the EVTM(Electrical Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual)
It details each wire, location and color, in that model with all options included

Google: 1998 Ford Ranger EVTM

You don't need the whole Set, just the EVTM, but be aware, whole sets are often sold WITHOUT the EVTM, because it is the most used so either it is lost or simply not included to be sold separately, or kept
So you can often find them sold separately

1997 or 1999 might be similar but will not be exactly the same.

If you just need one system I might be able to post it here, if I have it

By any chance.. Would you happen to have the 2001 Edge 3L one?. My #2 fuse (10 amps) keeps blowing and I do not have any ventilation. So far I unhooked the fan and resistor pack and swapped the relays in the underhood fuse box. Left side of the fuse stills shows a short. Been trying to find in detail what is really connected to that fuse to unhook until I find the culprit. Worst case scenario: which wires (and where are they) often wears their insulation out? Tia.

Welcome to TRS :)

You should start your own thread, its free, lol

In 2001 Ranger fuse #2 10amp in cab fuse box powers all this:
OverDrive on/off switch << this wire can short in steering column/shifter
Restraint control module
Passenger airbag on/off switch
Front function selector switch<<<<<<<<<< ventilation
Daytime running light module
Reverse lights

Tks. forgot to mention ...Stick shift, if it makes a difference. so Overdrive on/of sounds more like an automatic transmission thing (right/wrong?). Restraint control module probably equals airbags. I have the Airbag icon on in the dash; this explains that (computer probably freaks because blown fuse #2). front function ventilator switch probably equals the knob to select a/C-off-heat. I'm trying to locate the daytime light module to unhook it and see if this removes the short I see. Just was reading a post where the reply stated which of the 2 connectors on the drivers side of the manual transmission was the good one for reverse switch. I'm currently trying to unplug anything connected to this fuse to see if it is a shorted wire in a wiring harness.

DRL module is probably drivers side behind the front bumper. Cant remember if in front or behind the rad support.

DRL was shorting the fuse. the connector was was 'ingrained' in the DRL that it broke in the connector. Fuse doesn't blow up anymore. I now have A/C. Will eventually get around to fish out the remaining DRL connector remaining in the plug. tks for the advice!
