wire tracing to speedometer

SO MY 96 RANGER 2WD EX CAB was blowing # 25 fuse traced it back the speedometer. unplug that connector fuse dont blow does this mean i need to send it in somewhere for a rebuild. the speedometer or whole instrument cluster...

You would send in the whole cluster to a place that repairs them, but get PRICING first for the repair
I think minimum is $150 + shipping + parts needed for repair, so expect $250+

I think you will find that replacing the whole cluster with a used one is more cost effective
1996-2003 Ranger/Mazda cluster will be "plug and play"
And you can use either a cluster with tachometer or without, doesn't matter as far as wiring or fitment

An instrument cluster repair is usually only practical/cost effective, if its a hard to find or specialized original equipment part
1996 to 2003 Ranger clusters are not that, lol

i got a quote from ATLANTA SPEEDOMETER total price 165.00.. they want it in one piece and for a extra 8.50 they will replace the 4 bulus..only the 194 bulbs.in still looking for one with a tachometer.i want to keep it as close to OEM as i can.

Also replace the odometer worm gear
