Hello, new to the forum but I had a question I hope you guys could help with. I ran into some electrical issues and was shocked when I got under the hood and opened the fuse/ battery junction box and saw a bunch of exposed wires where the rubber just seemed to get brittle and break away.... needless to say I was frustrated and begun a journey on tracing and repairing all the connections but now time has come to get the pins placed back in there spots for the fuses, I always take a bunch of pictures so I know exactly how everything goes back.... however I broke my phone and my cloud was full so now I just have a endless amount of wires and no idea what there pin slots are. I found some diagrams stating what each fuse in each slot was for but I couldn’t find an actual color coded diagram for each wires pin. Any suggestions or ideas?

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I would recommend getting the EVTM (electrical & vacuum troubleshooting manual) for your truck. Usually available on ebay. That will give you circuit diagrams, connector pinouts, wire colors, component locations and more.

I poop in the furnace.
I agree with that guy up there.

The factory workshop manual and wiring manuals are absolutely the best tools you can buy if you intend on keeping an aging vehicle running. I got both workshop manuals (2 volumes) the wiring manual, and the transmission repair manual for my truck on Ebay for around 75 bucks.

And of course this means FORD manuals, not haynes or chiltons. Haynes and chiltons can be useful books but they do not have the detailed schematics of the factory diagrams.

And just FYI, in 1999 and up the EVTM was renamed to just "Wiring Diagrams"

So you want the 2001 Ford Ranger Wiring diagram book, it came with Shop Manual set for 2001 Rangers

Like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-Ford-Ranger-Truck-Wiring-Diagrams-Schematics-Drawings-Color/153299782902?_trkparms=aid=555023&algo=HOMESPLICE.SIMRVI&ao=1&asc=231138&meid=93006bb9f3db404ea75428ea9d07b522&pid=100752&rk=1&rkt=24&mehot=pf&sd=202668452369&itm=153299782902&pmt=1&noa=0&pg=2047675&algv=SimplAMLv5hPointwiseWebNoToraCoCoViewsNoHighIdfOrRoundRobinBlenderWithPromotedViewItems&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982

I have these 3 diagrams which include "some" engine fuse box wires
Battery junction box is engine bay fuse box
Central junction box is cab fuse box

Getting a Ford EVTM or "Wiring diagram" book is basically FREE, assuming you pay a reasonable price, lol
Because when you are done with it(or sell the vehicle it is for) you can resell it for what you paid for it
