Dang it. These people are out here warming up their SxS's and scraping the windshields. Half of them didn't even get in til after midnight from their night rides. I just crawled out of my sleeping bag.

Livvy wouldn't let me finish watching the race. She had had enough of the Boise and crowds. They re-arranged the course for round 2 and it just added a faster, steeper route to the top. Those races are insane.

Windrock is awesome. I drove about 50 miles in the park in 2 days and barely scratched the surface. I wanted to try one or two black trails. But in reality, being by myself, some of the blue trails were almost more than I could handle. Now, to go home and spend some winter days cleaning, inspecting, lubing and probably repairing. This Ranger is awesome and continues to surprise me with what it can do.

Tomorrow morning, we put her back on the trailer to go home.

Was that vdo playback in real time or was the speed adjusted to make it 30 minutes? At around the 11minute mark, you backed up and went around, I thought you were going to plow down some trees, but no. You made it through. Great footage. thanks

About 2/3 of it was at 125% speed. I tried to keep the video length down without making it obvious that I increased the speed. The rock gardens were at actual speed. I also cut out a few spots where I was stopped to talk to people or get out and pick a line. And, the camera ran out of memory at the end.

So, tell me. Was that a good idea? Or should I have just left it in actual speed? I try not to include a lot of boring “nothingness”. But for this video and the one I’m working on for trail 51, I kind of wanted to show what the whole trail was like.

the speed was fine for me. I also edit video as a hobby so I saw it with "my editor's eye". Good idea as far as I'm concerned. Keeping people watching is the key, don't want them to lose interest until you get that "view credit".

Another ? - what is the camera mounted to? it seemed to sway, and stay focused straight ahead and didn't bobble with the truck. Is it a "GO_PRO" brand camera? do you have a "stedi-cam" mount?

Simple GoPro mounted to the hood. It's interesting when you can see the top of the bumper and watch how much the body and frame move independently of each other.

I usually tie a small bungee cord around it. Also, to keep it from bouncing on the bulldog.

Yes. I have footage of trail 51, which had some challenges, plus the spur that goes down to Panther Rock. Then I have footage of an abandoned railroad tunnel. Plus, I haven't processed anything from my trip to Kentucky and Indiana yet.
