Hoping to get a winch in the next cople of weeks, been thinking about the Rough county 9500, the Smitybilt 8000 lb. or the HF 8000. Their all in about the same price range i was looking at, just want to know what u think of these and what would be the best choice?

6 of one, half dozen of another. They all have the same exact internals in them more or less.

I love my M8000 though personally. They pull less amperage than the cheaper winches do and parts availablility is amazing.

My first thought also. I got rid of mine 35 years ago today, should I call her and wish her happy anniversity?

WEll found a superwinch lp8500 for $313 shipped, looked online and only found good reviews , but i can get a smittybilt for $278. I found alot of good reviews for the smittybilt and i found some bad ones too. Cant really decide, will most likely order tonight after work, so any thoughts would be helpfull.

My buddy just bought a couple 12,000 lb Badland winches, and the one we installed is excellent. Easy to install and very strong. It's used often and holding up very well. HF has coupons for the 9000 lb for 279.00

I have a M8000 that I haven't installed yet. Got the mount built Friday, but need to sand blast and paint it, then wire it all up.

From what I could find, it's worth the money in the long run which is why I decided to spend it outright. Also the warranty, and inevitably even a Warn will break, they are said to be all replaceable components, and in the packaging I got a parts list for re-ordering. All the necessary hardware and such too.

If I were you I'd wait a bit and spend the money.

What about Warn's new VR line of winches?
