The parking brake release is broken in my 1992 Ranger. My local wreaking yard doesn't have any 89/92 Rangers. They have a 1994, that has the same dash as my 92. So a bought the parking brake control out of the 94 for $20. When I got I home and compared it to the parking brake control in my 92. I found the the one from the 94 has a automatic self adjuster on the parking brake, The 92 doesn't, Other than that, it looks like it would bolt in the same way. Has anyone here done this type of swap ?

I tried the newer parking brake and it won't work, the cable length is different. I was able to use the release rod and spring from the newer parking brake to get mine working again.
