Will a 1984 Ford Crown Vic LTD 302 rear end fit on a 84 ranger?

My brother's LTD is going to the junk yard so its becoming the donor car for the engine as well as anything else. Im pretty sure the rear end a 8.8. Would that work?

Yes it should be an 8.8 but I think LTDs were coil spring of that era? Not a big deal to cut off the coil and control arm brackets and weld on leaf spring perches, but they are also wider by several inches.

Some had offset pinions. Cars also had crappier gear ratios. (3.08 and 3.23 were common).

What are coil springs? If its wider than ill just look a bit like a dually haha.

I know they had 7.3 or 8.8. I just know people tend to use the Exploder 8.8 rear end. Figured I could use something I already have.

Not sure if I told you the year was 1984.

I'm sure you could make it work if you are willing to make some modifications. Depends on work vs cost of a ranger/explorer 8.8 that will basically be bolt on.

Do I need the rear diff and or the whole thing? Since my brother says it has to be able to roll. When the junk people come get her.

Uhhh then there's nothing you can use if it needs to have wheels on it...
I kinda figured. Would the original 7.5 year end of my truck be good enough? I dont drive aggressive nor do I spin the tires out even if I could with the wimpy 2.8.
