Hi guys, Doing an engine swap on a 94 ext cab 4x4. Pulled the motor & trans today, putting in the new ones tomorrow. What I'm wondering is if anyone has tried putting the motor & trans together in through the engine bay ? Will it fit?
I suppose that the proper way is engine thru the top and trans up from the bottom and that's the plan but I would be a little more comfortable mating the two on the floor so I can be sure the convertor fits nicely into the pump and everything is tied together nice and then drop the whole assembly through the top but I'm worried that it'll get 3/4 of the way in and jam up somewhere.
So, has anyone done it this way, and did you have any problems, or did it go in OK ? It's a 4" suspension lift on 33's and the floor jack's right there so I thought maybe but it would be real good to hear from somebody who has done it to see if there's an issue. Otherwise I'll just do it the regular way, but I hate trying to mate the 2 under the truck so I'm trying to avoid that if possible.
