My Guess it that it is for a 5-Speed because your Transmission Fluid DipStick might be in the way! That came to my mind anyway? Just a guess!

Buy it, try it, and report back. If it doesn't fit return it. But don't buy it on ebay, try Summit racing, they have a liberal return policy.

Go to your local parts store, ask them for a replacement air filter for an auto and a K&N Them compare the two and see why/if it wont work. If its even a half decent store they will let you compare to try an make a sale, if you already know the parts guy a bit ask them to come out and let you try and test fit it in your trucks air box. Or if you have a second vehicle remove your air box and take it in with you.

Seems like the easiest solution to me.

Naa man, its not just the K&N filter, its the whole cold air system that they offer that leads from the fender to the throttle body. There's something about the tube that wouldnt work, im tryin to figure whats up before buyin it

I build custom coldair intakes foe all kins of off the wall builds, a ranger wouldn't be that hard to fab one up on. I have a 91 ranger with a 2.3, I'm about to build an intake for, heres a couple pics of my 85 full size, twin throttle body 5.0 with twin cold air tubes and filters

Keep in mind, that I haven't built the air box around the filters yet, but thats just a little work away.

I'll post some pics of the ranger intake when I get it built, it'll be late december or early january before I get around to it. And I will guarantee an easy fit.

Your O2 sensor has nothing to do with the air box or inlet tube. The O2 is in the exhaust system, not the intake.

He probably meant the mass air flow sensor, they sell them at most major auto part stores, I prefer to cut my own, all you need is a small piece of plate steel and about 2" of the pipe you want to make your intake out of.
