Ah, like the old T tops. Then you have to find a place to store it where it won’t break.

I’ll keep my slider.
How TF did you get a slider on a 2011?!

The lack of a slider almost prevented me from buying mine.

Now if I could only find a center console....

One of the incentives when buying the truck was money toward an accessory. I ordered a slider.

You are right, none of them came with one from the factory. At least none on the lot of the dealership I was at.

I eventually want to get opening windows for the rear half doors too. Turn that wind tunnel in the cab into a tornado.

My 88 has vented side windows in the back, like mini van vent windows. Absolutely love that about it. Really wish the later ones had the same thing.

the grey-t escape
interesting but expensive. Ive only had 1 ranger with no sliding rear window, the ‘88. Ive even still got the slider that was in the ‘97, meant to ask @ericbphoto if he needed one when he was up here for the motor but forgot about it until after he had left.

this looks kind of neat, and it does have a system to store teh glass when it is out for another 50 bucks... but aren't the rear windows different between supercab and regular cab at least up until 98? I didn't see anything like that on the site.

I think I will keep my slider too...

@PetroleumJunkie412 I would think that an earlier year slider would fit your 2011, same with the popout windows. My 97 has the popout windows, I would think that those could be adapted to your 11 as well.

The only difference that I’m aware of is how the slider operates. Single piece slider vs a two piece, split slider on the older models.

They've got a case for the window to strap below the window. Hell you could probably make your own cheaper.

The pre 93 regular cab is different. They’re gasket mount, where everything else is bolt in.
I believe the hole in the back of the truck is the same.

I would love o have opening windows for the back sides. would be nice to just have the kind that pop out to let the air flow a little better. You know if they ever made them or just a dream?

I've actually got the same thing, 2011 XLT with rear slider.

Even better there used to be a company called Powr-Lite that made custom rear power windows so instead of that tiny little slider window in most trucks the whole back window of the cab would roll up and down. I can't find anything online of the company so I assume they're long gone, I found an 85 Ford Ranger a while back at a pick a part yard that had one installed, pretty neat setup, but wasn't about to try and figure out how to remove it LOL.

Found this ad for the Power light window. Looks like it was made by a company called "CRL", that is still in business. Couldn't find anything on their website about it though.

I'm surprised this isn't something that caught on, they have the same thing in SUVs.
