There
@Spott I contributed lol. My pics aren't as awesome but I tried. I live in New jersey for crying out loud, there is very little beautiful here...
Don't sell yourself short. There's a lot of beauty around, but people forget to look for it. For example, I have a couple-dozen lovely pictures from a routine afternoon in the local city park. I'm sure there are similar locations somewhere near you, but if you're too familiar with them, then you forget how special they are, and how nice they would look to someone who hasn't seen them over and over until they become inured to them. Stop for just a moment and look for them, and you'll find opportunities for glimpses of beauty. And I image you have much better opportunities for interesting architectural photos in New Jersey than I have in Eastern Idaho.
It doesn't matter that I have a fancy camera, a bag full of lenses, and experience with photography. Those are just my tools. The important part is the craftsman, whether that's you or me, or the next guy who posts a photo. Your trail pictures, aquarium picture, rock art picture, and historic boat picture all have their own type of beauty and value, as well, and demonstrate to me that you
do know how to compose and take a nice picture. I'm not giving you much credit for the "cucumber in a dirty bucket with hoses" picture, however, and pictures of food don't bring me nearly as much enjoyment as eating food.
