Hey Gents,

'85 B2
Cologne 2.6 Carb'd

Back story: I bought this B2 about a month ago, it came from upstate new york to Prescott, AZ. I'm not sure the owner had the carb adjusted for the 5k altitude. I went in and adjusted the high and low idle according to manufacturer specs and now I'm blowing smoke. Smells like fuel, so running rich, but I didn't think that an idle adjustment would do that.

It's my only vehicle and I'm starting to worry that I got a lemon. Why would it blow white smoke after an idle adjustment?

White or black?

Water blows white, fuel blows black.

It could be a cat issue. Does it smell like raw fuel, or does it smell like an old lawn mower?

The cats make water out of left over fuel. If you have water collecting in the cats and then boiling out the whole thing would make sense.
