Hi, now that winter is over I've been driving my Ranger more often. For the past week there has been small traces of white residue on the dipstick, it does not appear to be mixing with the oil. The oil is clear, no milkyness. No smoke out of the exhaust, no overheating or coolant loss, and good vacuum that doesnt fluctuate (20.5 Hg). I only drive to school in about 17 minutes. Is this not enough time to allow the engine to warm up and have any condensation evaporated? Thanks, Lucas.

If youre not loseing coolant then its more then likely just condensation.

Yes, condensation, change PCV Valve and check Vent/breather hose to make sure its clean

PCV system helps keep moisture levels lower in the crankcase valve cover areas, so less condensation

Also if engine does repeated short run times, under 10minutes, then condensation can increase, engine never gets hot enough to burn off water vapor

You might want to let it idle for a few minutes before you go to work. Get it up to operating temperature and vaporize those water molecules
