I have a five-speed transmission that is from an '86 Ranger. Does anyone know if it will bolt right into a '90 Ford Ranger?

The 90 trans is a mazda 5 speed. The 86 is a mitsubishi, it bolts up but I'm not sure if it is a direct swap.

Do you know what you would have to do to make it work by any chance?

You will probably have to swap the clutch master to slave hose to go from the QD to the top load pin and seal connection if the trans is an FM145.

The hose comes off the master with the removal of a pin. Do yourself a favor and replace the O ring when you do this.

Easiest is to replace the master with the new slave so you can do some of that on the bench. New masters are way easier to replace without the push rod in it. That particular system will bleed relatively well by gravity.

Couldn't it also be a TK5? He might also run into the issue of the driveshafts being different lengths.
