I was just looking at Dana 44s for no apparent reason and stumbled on a few that seem like a good deal. I looked in the tech library and it only covers ford 44s. There seems to be alot of chevy 44s available and i didnt know if they were better/worse than ford setups. there was a 6 lug or a 8 lug with high steer knuckles in particular both out of chevys

U dont want a chevy Dana 44, they have the diff on the passenger side. U need one on the drivers side to work with your driveline.

I could have sworn the TL had info on all the axles, but I just checked and it discussed the Waggy D44. The reason you're finding good deals on the non-Ford axles is because they aren't as desirable. If you havent read the entire article it's well worth it.

In my opinion, find the specific axle you want and keep searching until you get it. If you're going to spend as much as you're probably going to on a swap, build it right the first time.

Yeah, find a D60.
I regret only one thing in my life. And that was building my Ranger on some narrow-@ss weak 1/2 ton axles.

sure we have some here on TRS, but I don't think any forum will ever come close to having the info Pirate does.

Don't hate me b/c I'm posting this... I love TRS more than the next guy does, but truth is the truth. I read Pirate all the time, but have never posted there.
