Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Most stuff on the internet is garbage too unless youre willing to pay a stupid amount lol

Also, depending on what youre looking for, dont look past truck stops, espicially for electronic stuff.
Yeah your not wrong.. but at least by looking at stuff on the internet you can find something you might be interested in and then search it on Amazon to read 1000 reviews about how crappy it is

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Wrong! You have to BE a general to own them.
Yeah. But generals have low level staff, such as the rest of us, who take care of that stuff on their behalf.

There is still a big pep boys around here. I was surprised at how much stuff they had the last time I was in there.

I normally get stuff like that off the internet, the Napa has some stuff I don't go there expecting much, and the tractor supply is probably the best bet for in person accessories buying.

Farm stores like tractor supply seem to be the best bet for that kind of thing. Around here they are kinda small, but the ones I went to out in the midwest were massive. I assume proportional to the size of the farms.

Forgot to mention sometimes Army surplus stores have some good stuff too. Best place for ammo can projects. and whatnot. Ghillie suits make great hang off the truck shades.

I try to read reviews of people that actually used the product properly. Some people misuse/abuse stuff then leave a bad review. Others use it lightly and even spend hours diagnosing/fixing issues before leaving a review.

Also I try to look for stuff that at least has some sort of brand name...

Still its all hit and miss online. Some of my friends have great luck with that, me not so much. Usually I will ask them to send me the link of the one they got lol.

Turned out that TSC has a pretty good car selection... mainly towing related. Surprisingly, they didn't have any blind-spot mirrors. I'm having zero luck finding a glass 3.75" convex mirror. There's plenty of glass options out there for the 1-2" range. I got a new old stock mirror off fleabay, thinking that an old one might be glass, but it's still plastic. It looks allot better than the one i tried from autozone, but it's still plastic.

@Chapap you can also check at a Pilot/Flying J Truck Stop. They have a small section of mirrors and stuff for Truckers to make quick repairs on the road. I've seen some really cool and unique items there.

I was just in my local tsc yesterday and did see spot mirrors, they were near the rv power cords in the towing section. Not saying that all tsc’s are the same & carry the same stuff, but the 3 Ive been to were all set up the same, makes it nice if youre in a different town than home and need something. Can go right to that section without wandering around the store trying to find it.

I'll browse autozone now and then, but for the most part if I'm looking for something specific i go straight to eBay, or Google it and see what comes up.
