I am in the process of prepping my 91 ranger to except a 2013 Ford F150 Ecoboost 3.5 with twin turbos. any tips would be greatly appreciated.
hopeing to eliminate the header box core under the hood. Hoping i can use the auto trans and just not use the transfer case in my swap since the 4x4 is not going to be used and it not always engaged anyway.
Thanks

Its the heater Fan box, and if you don't need heat(or AC) where you live then no problem

You may need to move steering shaft over as well, and figure out a steering setup

I couldn't find the overall dimensions of this engine, width is the big deal, you can do a body lift if its too high
I won't be to long but you can relocate a radiator in front of rad support since you won't have AC

You can't use an AWD transmission, as it will roll in Park without front drive shaft connected
Same 6-speed automatic with 3.5l turbos were used in 2WD/RWD Fords so you may need to source one

thanks for the reply. I have measured the engine about 25 1/4 inchs wide at ac compressor/alt at widest point. I believe i can fit those above the frame rail. I was told the 3.0 liter engine mounts will do the trick to mount it. I am worried about the steering shaft clearance however. I should have the donor engine out within next two weeks, i have been pulling parts off as time allows. (wrecked donar truck also) so ...

Could have swarn someone on here has a build page of them doing a 2.7 or 3.5 swap. I know he totally redesigned the steering shaft.

It will be insane if you can get traction. This is in the much heavier F150.

Who the heck came up with those numbers and can I buy some drugs from them?

It was a tuning company who provides tunes for F150s. They used three trucks and got the before numbers and then they tuned all three of them and ran them again. We use all three truck engines for work and the coyote sounds great but it can’t hang with the Ecoboosts, especially when towing. Their low RPM grunt is incredible. Now, if you supercharge the coyote, all bets are off.
