Hello, my 2000, 2.5-liter stick-shift Ranger with a long bed has a wheelbase close to 124 inches, but all the specs say 117.5 inches. I am trying to find muffler parts; everything is listed with a short bed spec of 112 inches. Any help will be appreciated. if there is a reason for the discrepancy.

yes, I did find the specifications for the supercab with a 125.7-inch wheelbase. Mine is a regular cab with a long bed. My measurement from wheel center to wheel center is 124 inches., give or take a hair. I am not able to find the correct muffler pipes, especially in a kit.

I'm at a loss, but I got to ask, is there any chance someone messed with this before you got it - like took a shortbed, chopped and lengthened the frame to change to a long bed?
If you trace the frame rails from the cab back to the spring perch, no splices / no funny stuff?

I was thinking more took a SuperCab frame, put a regular cab on it and grafted 2 boxes together.
I'm with @snoranger : I want to see a picture of the truck.

Either that, or measuring wrong

As far as measure wrong I got a comment on how to get it right, center of wheel to center of wheel is the same measure as back of wheel (not tire, the rim of the wheel) to back of wheel or front of wheel (rim) to front of wheel. harder to eyeball the center of a wheel with no landmarks, but edge of rim to edge of rim should be easy with someone to hold the dumb end of the tape measure for you. - caveat, if you have 15" up front and 16" in rear or some other funny stuff then yeah that doesn't work.

I'd like to meet the body man who can graft 2 boxes together to get a 7' without it looking like a hack job.

While I'm no body man, it wouldn't be that difficult for someone that was. There are enough straight areas of the bed that it wouldn't be that difficult to section part of another box in and make it look right. Would be kind if like the late 90s or Early 2000s F-150 long bed with the real long wheel base. They looked like they had a mile between the back of the cab and the back axle.

Good body man could easily do it

Cut the front off a 7' bed by the wheel arch

Cut the 6' bed right behind the gas door.

It would fill the gap between the cab and bed from putting a reg cab on supercab frame

years back my buddy would cut two damaged trucks in half and weld them together and you would never know it when he was finished. He did it in his spare time and it was like magic. He would also make trucks into high lifts by changing the frames, making them longer, and so forth. He was a talented guy.
