This morning early I had a nice open stretch of the 405 and was testing the wheel balancing job I had had done last week; there used to be a shimmy between 65-70, right where traffic likes to coast here in SoCal. Shimmy is gone fortunately, and then I decided to give it a go and see how she would do at higher speed. Took it to 85 mph on the clock (max on the speedo); I know that's close to actual speed as my tires are taller than spec. There was still more the engine had to give but I decided that was good enough for me. Bit more wind noise of course, and likely my MPG went south big time, but the truck felt quite solid. Automatic with overdrive, I think it was running at around 4,200 rpm.

What's the fastest you've ever had your Bronco II go?

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
One I had a good tail wind and felt brave; I got her all the way up to 58.

Seriously, my stock '90 2WD doesn't get driven fast; say around 55-60 at the most on secondary roads. A Bronco II just gets too squirrelly at speed; at 75 my sphincter starts really wrinkling the seat cover.

128 MPH.

But it was a purpose build drag race B2 motivated by a 351W.... I may be able to dig up a pic of it from 20+ years ago.

Mine starts to get iffy at 70mph, I don't push it farther than that.

It steers fine but bumps, dips, and holes in the road make the ride a little too exhilarating for me.

The few times I get on the highway I stay around 65 mph.

I feel iffy above 60. Like a lot iffy. My truck is made to go slow over big rocks.

I have achieved a blazing 10... maybe 12 MPH so far. Really looking forward to getting it into 3rd gear this spring.

Umm. My Bronco II with a 6 inch lift and 4.0 5 speed with 32s I buried the speedo until the rpms quit climbing. How fast? I can't say. It handled it well. Never even got hot. Felt rock solid.

Should add I aligned it in my yard. I think when I let off it was right about 6 grand for awhile. I didn't have much empty road left. Swung the ass around and ripped her home. Doesn't even leak. It's a good ride.
