I decided to put fresh 5w30 in the mazda and start it up after not driving it for a few months. I dont remember hearing the tick before, it is comming from the top of the engine. Is it a concern? https://anchor.fm/jon-rollins/episodes/engine-goes-tik-tik-e18aud3
Hard to tell exactly from your recording. Miles\Klicks on this V6~4.0L~SOHC?
Have the two OilPressurized TimingTensioners ever been changed; tick may be them letting the TimingGuides+Chains run a little loose?
If these TimingTensioners have more than 75kMiles, it's time for new ones, before the plastic Guides break from the slack\slapping.
Does the tick\rattle go away after the engine warms up?
As you're in cold Canada, consider 0w30 summer, 0w20 winter; allows oil to circulate quicker on cold starts.
Use FullSynthetic in any case.
