i have a 1999 f150 with an oil leak on the back of the ps head of a 5.4 with 67k miles on it

no warranty
bought it 3 months ago, 5k miles ago
replaced all the topend gaskets including the ds head gasket already made leak worse

my option
mill the PS head down, replace head gasket, and have the machine shop
check for cracks

buy a $500 head from the parts store

say f it and park it make payments on it as a usless paperwieght it is and buy a $1000 loopy to get around in

im loosing about 1/2 qt of oil to 50miles or so onto the exhuast, owe 10k on the truck , warranty i bought doesn't cover gaskets(never do business with 1st extended warrenty), what to do:sad::icon_confused:

if i have the ps head milled do i have to do the DS to, its not leaking so i would perfer not to have to pull it off again.

Have you changed the PS headgasket or just the DS headgasket?

The 99-01 F-150's had problems with head gaskets, they cured the problem in '02 (which I am thankfull for)

I would have a machine shop check the head out then, it might need trued up... which is never a bad idea to go ahead and do when you are changing leaky headgaskets so you don't have to tear it apart again.

As far as doing the DS side... it probably depends on how much machining the PS needs.
