I have 1995 Ford Ranger. Im having a 5.0 with a 5 spd transmission (M5OD-R2) installed. The engine and trans have already been fitted. I'm trying to figure out what manual T-Case I can use with the M5OD-R2. I am having trouble finding a straight answer online. I've just been typing in different questions into google and reading forums and tech pages that pop up. No luck yet. I will keep looking but if anyone can provide some assistance it would be much appreciated. If you need more info on the truck just let me know. I'll tell you what I can. Thanks!

44 series borg from 97 up 1/2 ton.... Np208 ford. Np 205 ford. Np 208 jeep with ford input shaft.


Not real easy....but...easy.

Just a heads up on the transfer case you decide on, try for pre-1998, they should still have a speedometer cable drive gear and hole
1995 Ranger is an electric speedometer, but 1995-1997 Rangers used a VSS(vehicle speed sensor) in the speedometer gear drive hole
If you still have your old transfer case keep that VSS unit, they were the same units on bigger transfer cases

You can spend $100 for a Dakota sgi-100bt speed interface unit, worst case, shares the rear axle ABS sensor, like 1998-2000 Rangers did

From Blue Oval, F150 transfer cases, used with M5R2, and have speedo holes
1989-1997 BW1356 (Manual shift), w/o PTO slip yoke, one piece shift linkage
1996-1998 BW4406 (W/o Torque on Demand) (manual shift) w/speedo hole and shift on fly

The 4406 from an F150 is a cute little T case, fit on the 4R70W in my V8 Explorer just nifty, I picked up another for my other V8 Explorer :)

This is a old post but just because you have a hole doesn't mean you have a speedometer drive. 97-98 F-150's had a speed sensor there, you can swap the guts out to get the stuff for a speedometer drive from a different t-case but it won't be there from the factory. It has stuff for the speed sensor.

Did you have to do a body lift to fit this?
Shouldn't have to but overall it makes the swap MUCH easier.

Okay, thanks. Trying to keep stock ride height and it seems pretty tight
