My speedometer wasn't working on my 1991 3.0 manual. My speedometer gear was messed up so I wanted to replace it. But, the one that was in there is green, and the chart on this site says that green was only used in automatic transmissions. No idea how accurate the speedo was; it's always been broken while I've had the truck. Anyone know what color or tooth count this truck is supposed to have?

My credo
Keep your mind like an umbrella, it only works if its open... Continually learning.
It would be helpful to know what engine, trans and axle ratio you have.

You have a 3.0, possibly a man. trans, and unknown axle code.

I feel like the parts man behind the counter.

Oops, forgot axle ratio. Looks to be 3.45 based on an axle code of 84, right? engine and trans are in the first sentence. thanks

Must be a chart somewhere that has number of teeth for the various stock models?

My credo
the grey-t escape
with a 3.45 and 225/70/14 tires “white” was the gear color in my 94. I bought a whole assortment of gears after going to 15’s and 4.10’s, it turns out red was the closest. its dead -on for 235/75’s and close for 225/70’s.
